The Service of Crowning
The crowns symbolize both royalty and martyrdom.
| “You have set upon their heads crowns of precious stones; they asked life of You, and You gave it to them.” Psalm 21:3-4 |
“Yes, You will make them most blest forever, You will make them glad with the joy of Your presence.” Psalm 21:6 |
As royalty the bride and groom are crowned with glory and honor. Together they become the king and queen of their own little kingdom. As martyrs the bride and groom are crowned as servants of God. Like the great martyrs of the church who in self-sacrifice became the pillars of the church, so too, through self-sacrifice to each other, the couple build a family and become a pillar of the church. |
